Yapı Kredi Research Library serves researchers mainly in the fields of history, literature, art and Istanbul with its collection of 1635 manuscripts and 1901 rare works collected in 1162 volumes, main library and YKY publications.

Yapı Kredi Research Library comprises 1635 manuscripts in 1662 volumes, 1901 rare books, main collection and Yapı Kredi Publications; serving researchers mainly on the topics of history, literature, arts and Istanbul.

The Library is part of Yapı and Kredi Bank Inc.’s vision of serving culture and arts since its foundation in 1944. In 1945 the bank launched Doğan Kardeş, a leading monthly for children; as such work continued, an in-house library began to form. In time, it grew with prominent collections purchased or donated, and Yapı Kredi Research Library was opened to researchers in Çemberlitaş in 1972. It was moved to Galatasaray in 1992.
Within Yapı Kredi Cultural Activities, Art and Publishing Inc., the library functions to preserve and provide access to cultural heritage and sources for contemporary research.
